AI Ship Score

Built something with AI but never shipped it? Find out if it is a product, prototype, toy, or distraction.

Answer 16 quick questions about your AI build and get an instant readiness score across four dimensions — plus a clear diagnosis and a recommended next step.

What the score measures

Most AI prototypes die in the gap between “it works on my machine” and “someone uses it and pays for it.” The AI Ship Score measures four dimensions that separate shipped products from abandoned experiments.

Prototype Readiness

Does it work? Is it clear what it does? Could someone use it without the builder explaining it?

Deployment Readiness

Is it live? Can people access it? Does it have a URL, hosting, logs and an owner?

Adoption Readiness

Has anyone outside the builder used it? Is there onboarding, a first-use task and a feedback path?

Commercial Readiness

Is there a buyer, a painful problem, measurable value and a path to revenue or internal approval?

Run the diagnostic

Answer honestly — the value is in the gaps it reveals, not a high score.

Brief description — one or two sentences.

Name a specific person, team or role.

Someone accountable for shipping and maintaining it.

Leave blank if nothing is blocking it.

Want a human Ship Loop Review?

I will review your AI prototype and tell you whether to ship, simplify, sell, or kill it — with a clear, prioritised action plan.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI Ship Score?

It is a diagnostic that scores your AI-built prototype across four dimensions — prototype readiness, deployment readiness, adoption readiness and commercial readiness — then gives you a clear diagnosis and a recommended next step.

Is this for Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, Bolt, Replit and other AI builders?

Yes. If you used any AI coding tool to build something — whether it is a chatbot, internal tool, workflow, app or automation — this diagnostic will help you figure out whether it is ready to ship or needs more work.

Does a high prototype score mean it is a real product?

No. Prototype readiness is only one of four scores. Many AI builds score well on functionality but poorly on deployment, adoption and commercial readiness. A real product scores well across all four.

What happens if my score is low?

A low score does not mean your idea is bad — it means there are specific gaps to close. The results page shows your top blockers, next actions and a recommended path (ship, simplify, validate or kill).

Can this help me monetise an AI product?

The commercial readiness score highlights whether you have a buyer, a painful problem and a route to revenue. If that score is low, the actions will point you towards validation before monetisation.

Do I need a deployed app to use this?

No. You can use the diagnostic at any stage. But if your prototype is not deployed, your deployment readiness score will be low — which is useful information.
