Client Status Snapshot for Jira

User Guide

Client Status Snapshot is a free, read-only Jira Cloud app that turns one accessible project into a reviewed 7- or 14-day status update.

Before you start

  • A Jira administrator must install the app.
  • You must be signed in and able to browse at least one Jira project.
  • The app only reads projects and issues Jira permits you to see.
  • It does not edit Jira or store report data.

Create a report

  1. Open Apps → Client Status Snapshot.
  2. Choose a Jira project.
  3. Select 7 days or 14 days.
  4. Review the six report counts and the complete preview.
  5. Optionally enter an executive summary on the full page.
  6. Select Copy report or Print / save as PDF after the preview is ready.

Understand the sections

  • Completed during this period: issues resolved inside the selected reporting period.
  • Currently in progress: issues whose Jira status category is in progress.
  • Blockers: unresolved work whose status indicates it is blocked or impeded.
  • Overdue open work: unresolved work with a due date before today.
  • Upcoming due work: unresolved work due within the selected horizon.
  • Risks and attention items: unresolved work outside earlier attention rules that has not been updated recently.

An issue can legitimately appear in more than one section, such as an in-progress issue that is also overdue. The report preserves those separate client-relevant signals.

Executive summary

The optional executive summary is available on the full Apps page. It is held only in the current browser session and disappears when the app reloads or the user navigates away. It is never saved by the app.

Copy or save the report

Copy report writes the exact visible report to the browser clipboard. Paste it into the destination you choose.

Print / save as PDF opens the browser’s print interface. Choose the browser’s PDF option if you want a file. The app does not upload, host, email or schedule the report.

The free report includes a powered-by footer linking to the permanent Client Status Snapshot product page.

Add the dashboard gadget

  1. Open a Jira dashboard you can edit.
  2. Choose Add gadget.
  3. Search for Client Status Snapshot and add it.
  4. Choose the project and reporting period inside the gadget.

The gadget provides the same classifications and report output in a compact layout. The executive summary is intentionally available only on the full page.

Data and privacy

The app requests read:jira-work only. It reads minimal project and issue fields through Forge as the signed-in user, stores no app data, and declares no external egress. Copying and printing are user-directed browser actions. Read the published privacy policy for complete details.

Troubleshooting

No projects appear

Ask a Jira administrator to confirm that your account has Browse Projects permission for at least one project, then reload the app.

Work is missing or unexpected

Confirm the Jira status, status category, due date, updated date and resolution date. Change between 7 and 14 days and allow the app to refresh. The app uses Jira’s current values and your existing access.

Clipboard copying fails

Browser or site policy may block clipboard access. Select the preview text manually or use the print/PDF option.
